AMELIA O'LOUGHLIN

FOUNDER| CREATOR | FILMMAKER

British-Irish screenwriter, filmmaker and founder working across film, television and live creative events. Brit List Nominee (2025), Forbes 30 Under 30 shortlist, and Runner-up of Cold Smoke Productions' Development Award, with projects in development backed by the BFI and Screen Ireland alongside BAFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated teams including Sleeper Films (The Favourite), Cowtown Pictures (Everybody Digs Bill Evans), Freestyle Picture Company (The Florida Project) and Sympathetic Ink (Girl With the Pearl Earring).

I like pacy, character-driven stories that exude extraordinary exchanges buried in ordinary lives. I like subjects that carry a cause. I like worlds that are unusual, unnerving and visceral. I work across commissions, co-writes, writers' rooms and original speculative development in both film and TV.

As founder and director of Freida Films Ltd, I've led the production of multi-award-nominated 'Matilda's Arrived' (Oscar-qualifying; San Jose Film Festival, etc.); BAFTA-adjacent short 'I'm Still Ethan', starring Dave Johns with music by Kae Tempest, which traversed three continents in the festival circuit.

Factual work includes 'If The Walls Could Speak' - a portrait on Islington's Holloway Prison and the repercussions of closing services to detained women and their children due to privatising public properties - the project is currently in feature development.

I'm the co-founder of TABLE, a private creative salon where original writing is read to an audience of potential collaborators; originating at The Groucho Club on Dean Street, TABLE is an offline renaissance, designed to bring the industry together around a central object: whether it's the script or the furniture. TABLE's on the global map: LA, NYC, Paris and Mumbai.

Music-loving, avid chef. Represented by Eva Bell at Sayle Screen, The Partnership Group
